BCL NEWS W11/18

Here we go again. No news about the BF2018, not even any new rumours! Incursions seems to be a mystery too. One might wonder how close to the BF2018 publishing date it would still make sense to publish Incursions to all platforms. It would still make sense, but if it’s not out latest at summer, it wouldn’t make any sense.

But the BCL keeps going. We are seeing new teams joining, but also heard from many teams, that they are going to retire from BF1 after this season.

Leagues

Concentrating on PS4 EU leagues. Still looking for volunteers to cover US or any other platform. Come on guys, I’m sure there are some talented writers who are playing other platforms or in US. It would be so cool to have a wider coverage of the of the league on this newsletter. Unfortunately I have only limited time to compile these newsletters – help would be appreciated.

T5 Domination

Season 3 is almost done. T5 in different divisions are having their finals done and we are good to go to Season 4. Registration will open soon, so watch those #announcements in Discord!

Division 1

The Division 1 final, the match for ultimate champion of the season, was on Sunday. In the final we had the best two teams in the league, iAce and Revelation.

And we have the new champion

Division 2

In the final HzD faced Ya and the champion is…

Winner t5s3d2ps4

Division 3

The D3 final between DtcH and KC is scheduled for 22nd March 2018 at 8pm UK. Match is going to be casted on Battle Epic Twitch

T8 Front Lines

The first season of Front Lines is moving to the Knockout phase. There are no division, but there are plenty of groups. We still have some pending matches, so the knockout games will need to wait for conclusion of those matches. From the Admin perspective it looks like they are all more or less due time or pending a dispute, so it’s likely we will start the knockouts next week.

If you are in T8 and still have a match that is not played, you should act on it now. The last day to conclude your T8 Group match is 25th March.

T12 Conquest

We have two divisions in T12. The D2 has only one group, so the group standings are the final standings. In D1 we have two groups, what means the semi-finals. Based on the group phase success we are promoting and demoting two teams from both divisions. The last team in both D1 groups is getting demoted to D2 and the top two teams from D2 is getting promoted to D1.

Division 1

The division is moving to semifinals this weekend. Here are the teams

T12s3ladder

Division 2

There are three fixtures without results in the D2 group. Without these matches there are no official results. All of the matches are older than the set 2 week limit. If any of these matches is not completed by 25th March, it will be an admin decision. The default decision is 0-0, no point to either of the teams. The missing matches are

  • MOT – D3TH
  • MOT – Gwar
  • IRA – ZBIR

BCL NEWS W10/18

Yet another exciting week in BCL. In many leagues group phase in coming to it’s end and we are moving to next phases. Depending on the league it’s either te semifinals or the knockout games.

Latest on the Battlefield front is the rumours about the next Battlefield title. Until now the most viable rumour has been Battlefield Bad Company 3, but that’s yesterdays news. Due to some assumed leaks today the most popular rumour is Battlefield V – a WWII game. There is even a ”screenshot” of the development version of the next Battlefield’s title screen, but it’s not really giving anything away and who knows if it’s just a nice piece of Photoshop artwork by a fan.

Battlefield VL

Wildest rumours suggest that DICE is developing two games simultaneously. DICE Stockholm is concentrating in Battlefield V, The WWII game that will be released in Oct 2018. DICE Los Angeles is developing Battlefield Bad Company 3, that would likely be published in 2019.

Discord Server

Many things in the league are arranged and communicated in the BCL Discord Server. During the past couple of weeks Jkniteuk and x5u3x have been working hard to get the membership status up to date in the Discord server. We have made some substantial changes to the access levels of users. The main purpose of the Discord server is to operate as communication channel for BCL teams. We have closed some channels from non-members. We are hoping to serve better the teams playing in BCL and to cut down the unwanted behaviour we have seen in past by external trolls.

Channel Access

There has been some inconsistency during the update process and there still might be some. We apologise any disturbance this might have caused. But we are finally getting there. At the moment all Discord users who have registered with correct nick on BCL site should have the BCL Registered -label on their Discord user. This label opens all the discord channels.

There are some important things we would like to our members to remember

  • Please keep your nick in BCL Discord exactly the same as your player nick you have registered to BCL website (that should be the same as your in game nick)
  • The correct format of the Discord nick is [team tag]GamerNick.
  • You can ask admins to change your team tag and ask for BCL Registered label on #registration channel on BCL Discord Server
    • For registered label you must be registered to BCL web site and you must be in a active team with minimum of 5 members
  • Please do not change your Discord nick from the guidelines above or you might loose your BCL Registered label

#team-reps

We have a special readonly channel for #team-reps. The purpose of this channel is to serve teams as yellow pages of contact persons. Not all teams are in Discord so the list will newer be complete, but we are trying to get the list as comprehensive as possible. Admin team would appreciate if all active teams in Discord would check the list and update/add the missing teams and/or contacts to @Jkniteuk#6592 via DM in Discord. Please help us to get the list up to date. In the end it will help you too, to find the contact for your match 😉

The contact should primarily be the leader and/or captain of the team. If you have a team member without captain status who is your match organiser we can add per request those contacts also, but we would recommend you to promote all match organisers to Captain to help non-Discord teams to find proper contacts for your team.

Leagues

Again one team dropped from the competition. This time we lost a team from semifinals!

  • RAGE DOM T5 EU S3 D1 PS4

T5 Domination

The EU PS4 semifinals are almost done. We adjusted the division promotions a bit so that the both teams in the final are promoted to next division (if available).

BCL is looking for people for PC & XB1 league coverage and the same for US leagues. If you have proper english writing skills and you feel you could provide weekly updates for a league, please contact Jamppu_FI in Discord. It would be good to have proper updates about all the running leagues!

Division 1

Unfortunately we had to replace RAGE in the semifinals, what has caused a little delay in the league. GnS v iAce should happen in next few days and after that we can have the final.

S3D1 ladderThe semifinal match between FPH and REV was what you would expect from a BCL semifinal – a real thriller. Battle Epic casted the match live

Division 2

Division 2 semifinals has already been played and we have the finalists

S3D2 ladder

The HzD vs. Tribe 2 match was also casted, but with some little difficulties. Match is available in Twitch for a while

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/236626623

Division 3

Also in Division 3 the semifinals are done and we have our divisional finalists

S3D3 ladder

Once again, one of the semifinal matches was casted, this time it was the Dz46 vs. DtcH

T8 Frontlines

PS4 EU Frontlines league has still a few matches before we are moving to the knockout games. T8 has been successful, but there has been some complaints about missing divisions. Next season will be with divisions, but we needed a reference season to create a baseline for divisions.

T12 Conquest

PS4 EU Conquest league is almost ready for final matches. We are concluding the last pending match this weekend and hopefully we can move to the semifinals next weekend.

Divisions in next season

We have had the first season with Divisions in BCL and the first Divisional semifinals are ongoing in T5. So what happens with divisions in the future.

Promotions and demotions

We have decided to fine tune the divisions and how teams are moving from division to division between the seasons. Both promotions and demotions are decided by following guidelines

  • In divisions below the 1st: The two finalist teams both are promoted to upper division
  • In divisions above the last: Last team from the group will be demoted to previous division

This means that if there are several groups there will be several teams moving between divisions.

T5 Domination on Season 4 EU PS4

In the current season 3 of T5 the promotions in D2 & D3 will be for the teams fighting in the finals.

Promotions

  • Div 2 -> Div 1
    • ::YaHooLiGaN’s! [Ya]

BCL NEWS W9/18

BCL is going strong and again we have some exciting games played and more to come.

The lag bug from the Apocalypse DLC has been fixed on all platforms. Leagues should go forward as usual.

What about the next game in Battlefield franchise? We all know the new Battlefield game coming up in Oct 2018. There is huge speculation what that could be. Will Battlefield continue with history theme and come up with a WWII game or are we coming back to modern days or even go to the future? Personally I think the time would be right for Bad Company 3 – but that’s just me 😉

There is still lifespan left with BF1 and the big question is what will happen with the Incursions? Are we still getting the competitive game mode to BF1 or is the current Incursions PC Alpha-test just preparation for the next Battlefield game.

Leagues

One team has partially quitted the league. It’s partially, because they are out from the US league only. EU leagues continue as usual.

The the first the season in BCL with divisions. Depending on the league we are having several different Divisions for teams with different skill levels. The idea of Divisions is to provide the community teams with more equal opponents and in that sense more even matches – it looks like divisions work well.

The true champion of the season is of course the winner of the Division 1. On lower divisions the teams are playing for promotion to upper divisions or staying on the current one. The champion of a lower division is getting promoted to upper Division and the last team in a Division is going to be relegated to a lower division – if there is one.

T5 Domination

T5 EU PS4 is moving to semifinal stage. All divisions have now their semifinal fixtures scheduled for next Friday the 2nd March.

Battle Epic Will cover the most exciting matches of the finals. Keep looking at the #live-now announcement on BCL Discord and subscribe to Battle Epic to get informed when cast is live.

The semifinal pairs are

Division 1

FPH vs. REV RAGE vs. iAce

Division 2

Ya vs. B2H HzD vs. TE

Division 3

Dz46 vs. DtcH KC vs. ParE

The winners of these matches will be fighting in the Division Final.

The decider in Finals

The Finals and the Knockouts are a little different from the group phase fixtures. In the group phase teams are hunting for points and there doesn’t need to be a clear winner – it can end in a draw. In Knockout/Finals the teams are playing for the victory. In the event of 2-2 draw a tiebreaker round is played in Giant’s Shadow map where teams play one round – winner of that round wins the match.

In past the sides of the tiebreaker map has been random, the game has decided who’s German and who’s Brithish, but since there might a a some difference on the starting spawns there is a new option in the rules.

The team getting most tickets on the first four rounds can select the sides for the tiebreaker (German Empire /British Empire). The hosting team must be notified immediately in the beginning of the tiebreaker if the sides must be changed. The hosting team is responsible of making the side changes.

Confirming the semi-final match

Each semi-final match is scheduled on the BCL site. If you are the leader of a finalist team you can find your match schedule under My Clan -> knock out fixtures. From there you can do the regular match confirmation, map selections etc.

T8 Front lines

This is the first season of Front lines in BCL. We don’t have the Divisions on Front lines this season, but obviously the results of the first season is providing us the tools to start with Divisions on season 2.

Since all the participating teams are fighting in the same big Division, there are quite a lot of teams. There are four groups of 5. I have to say I’m surprised how popular Front lines is.

There are quite a lot of FL games still to be played so I would say it’s too early to start speculating about the qualifiers. But what we have seen so far there are some groups with a team with clear lead already while other groups are more equal. Lot’s of familiar names from other game modes on the top positions. You can see the current league situation from the PS4 Leagues page.

T12 Conquest

The season 3 of Conquest T12 EU on PS4 is on it’s final matches of group phase. The group leader boards are building up and we are starting to see who’s moving on to Finals and who are potentially getting promoted to next division and who are going to be denoted.

The outcome from D1 Group A is quite clear already. ITS TOO EASY BRO [2eZy] is going to be the winner of the Group A and second position is taken by Ownage Extreme [oX]. These two teams are moving to finals and face the top two from Group B.

The Group B is not as clear as Group A is. I had a luxury of casting the fixture between the current top two teams and it was an interesting fight.

Zdiv v Gloria Victis

The last match of Group B is still open and the end result of the group is depending on this last fixture, where the German Fight Machines [GFM] is facing the BEGA Élite PS4 [BEGA]. If the GFM wins the match 4-0 they would rise up to second position of the group and drop Zdiv from the finals. If GFM plays 2-2 draw they would be on 6 points, the same as Zbir and the team with higher combined ticket count would go to next phase. If GFM loses the match Zdiv would move forward to the finals. Exiting isn’t it!

Team Presentation: [Red] OctapuzZ – Retrospective View

Hello community. This article starts hopefully a long series of league team presentations. If you want your team presented in this space – please contact Jamppu_Fi on Discord.

First up is BCL Season 2 T5 winner OctapuzZ Gaming. The team has recently quit BF1, but I’m sure we will see the team again in the future releases of Battlefield.

Enjoy,
Jamppu_Fi

OctapuzZ Gaming was created in March 2017. Although we are very young, 8Pz is one of the most capable Battlefield 1 clans on the PS4 at least for the domination 5vs5 game mode. It is all about teamplay, good players, organisation and a good atmosphere.

Phew, when I wrote this About Us for our website back in the glory days of the most casual but all loved competitive Battlefield 1, we just took our first steps into the great international, often cringe and trash, league & tournament world of the game. This post is for all great people we meet on our path in the course of time and for all who want to know more about how OctapuzZ, a team of competitive newbies, with an even more newbie like background, became one of the most capable teams out there in Battlefield One.

How It Started

One of the reasons why many, mostly German, players couldn’t understand why we became such a strong team, was, that me and most of the very first OctapuzZ players, came from an absolutely fun clan called Deaddevils. I started there as a showcase public hero and with time I managed to find interest in taking on responsibility for the team itself and planing future steps. I even wrote software solutions to keep track of players activity on our training games, connected to the crappy webpages calendar.

We were bad, however I was able to enforce an “e-Sports” team of our best players and started to get into early business, even though the focus was still on fun. To keep things short, I decided to create my very own team weeks later and with a lot of help from my team mates and later friends like Seven or Deluxe, we managed to transfer the best players from the old “e-sports” team to OctapuzZ Gaming. This is the point, were many people are still stuck at, concerning information about the composition of our roaster.

On our first website, you can still find some very prehistoric DDe matches (click image).

The First Successes

The new goal of OctapuzZ was to be able to play at the top and to have a chance to get defeat less badly by top tier teams. We still had one roaster with about nine players. However, to become the best you have to take into account the following rules and make hard decisions, such as excluding buddies from the team or rejecting friends:

  1. Removing bad players from roasters, when new more skilled players arrives
  2. Give new players a time of four weeks, in order to prove oneself, before adding them to the roaster
  3. Taking reliability seriously and remove unsuitable players, even if they are skilled
  4. Try to play with the same five to six players over and over again
  5. Take care of concentration and calm during matches
  6. Create tactics with your team for every map, even if it sounds ridiculous, in the end it creates easy handable standard situations
  7. Play against the bests (not from the beginning)

Getting back at 1., I already wrote about excluding and rejecting buddies and friends. For us, one of the first mates to remove from OctapuzZ was Seven, who helped me a lot with the old team which later resulting in a second team. However, it was also a joint decision, since he had less time to play and couldn’t hold or even rise his skill level. Also Korte, later captain of our second team, was rejected by me, although we played hours of Battlefield together over years and was, and thankfully still is, a good real life friend over seven years now.

Over the time, we managed to get a lot of very unknown new players, which was a result of still being very unschooled concerning the Battlefield scene and didn’t have any connections to the old so called legends out there. And even if we had, we still weren’t worth the talk, to be attractive for well known high-skilled players, but this wouldn’t last forever. Getting back to the above list, we got players like clockHQShakhthar, Red over the time and the kernel of OctapuzZ Team Red was born. A good point about the unawareness of the existing legends was, that we weren’t busy measuring ourselves with them, but just putting the full focus on our improving gameplay and finally, out of nowhere, we were capable of playing with the best out there and winning our first tournament ever, the NGT Fast Cup.

We are proud to announce our first victory in an international cup!
The CUP was organized by NextGenTournaments a well known organizer for competitive cups on PS4 and PC. One interesting thing about the cup was the so called looser bracket in addition to the main bracket…

read more: NGT Fast Cup.

After loosing 5:1 in rounds against GnatiX, now eMp, in the German Bundesliga easter cup, we managed to beat them two days in a row in a double final in NGT. Wow, what just happend? We jumped into spotlight and firstly got confronted with a mix of love from a new fanbase and also a lots of derision and trash from a lot of people, except from GantiX, also they weren’t obviously quite pleased with the result.

Overall High-point And Loss Of Interest

Look, its OctapuzZ, the randies out of nowhere, where everyone is cheating and now they think, they are the best in a randy game

– almost every good old player, we beat 🤷.

Now being on everybody’s lips, things changed a bit. We got confronted a lot with hate and trash, mostly by bored kids and some, which got just misinformed by players we didn’t took after their testing phase or to whom we turned our backs on. But we also found many friends like the Hooligan or Rage team (Hi Scream, Hi xSolistic) and players like Bonnie, [Zdiv]IJ, Danielsan or germanance are just some of our supporters in social media and friends. I won’t list anymore, since I will forget some for sure, safe call.

Later in summer 2017 we were able to beat Gnatix again, this time in revenge for the easter cup, and managed to get the title as“German Masters” in the German Bundesliga Summer League. At this time Bulletz joined us, the first top tier player from another team, Revelation, and our main roaster reached the final strength. Staying at Revelation, as one of our main competitors in Battlefield, it was them we faced in the BCL EU Domination 5v5 Season II final. The tough fight was even streamed by Battle Epic and we managed to win our third gold in a row. It was a match which anyone would have expected, when both teams are facing each other and is still worth it to re-watch it here: OctapuzZ Gaming :: BCL GRAND FINAL :: vs. Rev

We in person

But where the good time lasts long, the bad time sneaks slowly around like a Model-10 bush-camper. The game is old, the new Call of Duty is about to launch with an build-in competitive experience, we beat the strongest known teams more than just once and our Win-Loose account is reaching near a 180:10 Win/Loose ratio. We managed to win some more tournaments and even got our first price money, but without the motivation of finding stronger teams than us and the rarely played scrims against teams, which where willing to play against us, we have lost our ambition to stay at Battlefield. With our second team, team blue, we barely missed top three in the BFNations frontlines clan tournament and the first players finally went inactive for Battlefield, resulting in eMp and Revelation got stronger than us again. We tried to fill the lack of players with PulzR and Iron, both members from our second team and even if both are strong infy players, you can’t expect the team to work with a replaced player like before, when there were month of team-orientated up to 14 scrims and matches per week. Especially not, when you barely find any scrims to practice.

So for now, besides some BFNation related matches, we went official inactive with a total (in December stopped updated) Win/Loose ratio of 200:15 :
OctapuzZ-Gaming.com:  No More Battlefield

What is Left

Literally everything! We are still the same mates and just playing other games now, which is resulting in something big in the next couple of weeks. Just because No-Slidefield is dying and Incursions might not be what we were’re thinking about a competitive experience, it doesn’t mean, we are out of sight! We will be using our gained level of awareness and experience to take the next step of providing a new team-experience for all interested team captains, which will fit to our philosophy from the very first quote of this post, giving them the ability to use our brand to get recognition and our help resulting in the need just to focus on their team and nothing else. Moreover, our still growing YouTube channel has some new videos in its release pipeline, with not only Battlefield or gameplay related stuff.

Stay tuned and take a look at our website from time to time, to get the newest information about whats coming next. Maybe we could call you an OctapuzZ player soon!

New banner, pointing out some future plans

BCL News W8/18

Again a week full of epic battles is ending. What’s going on in the community.

The new Apocalypse patch has seriously been apocalyptical. The patch broke the game by adding a micro freeze or stuttering into the game each time a player scores points. There are many rumours about how to work around it and what causes it, but until there is more clarity, teams are allowed to postpone their already confirmed fixtures.

Leagues

All leagues are moving onward. We are starting XB1 Leagues soon as well.

Unfortunately the league of dropouts is still growing. I would like the teams to be a bit more solid, before entering the leagues. I’m afraid we would have to re-initiate the minimum point system to enter the leagues. Teams who has left the league

T5 Domination

We are working hard to get the final matches of T5 group phase in PS4 done. Teams are eagerly waiting for the next phase of the league, that cannot start before group phase is completed. We have now waited enough and the fights not yet done after the Friday 23rd Feb will be closed. Next step would be the final games and the target is to start playing those from 2nd March.

T8 Frontlines

We updated the T8 penalties into the Community Rules. For each violation the penalty is  a loss of one capture point/MCOM station.

I.e if teams play DRAW = at the end teams have equal number of flags on their possession. A player in Blue team used a banned weapon to kill one enemy. The Blue team would loose one flag, resulting in Red team to win. For more detailed information and samples please visit our new FAQ section.

T12 Conquest

The week in T12 has been busy, not only fighting but also disputing and breaking rules. There are some new teams that seem to have troubles understanding the rules or rules are broken on purpose. This will not be tolerated in BCL.

League is still moving on and there are some good fights coming up. The battle for the #1 position in CQ T12 EU S3 D1 B will take place on Sunday 25th Feb when Zdiv faces  GV. The winner of the match will take the first place in the group B and will be facing the second team in Group A for the spot in the final. The Zdiv-GV match will be live on Battle Epic Twitch on Sunday 25th Feb 8pm UK.

BCL News W7/18

Another week has passed and a lot has happened. Teams come and go and lot’s of fights has been fought.

Leagues

There are lot’s of newcomers in the leagues and we ask patience from the ”veteran” teams with new teams learning the system. Please help the newcomers the best you can so we all will have a smoother league experience.

There are some dropout teams and there are some teams in queue waiting for a spot in leagues, but we are still struggling with the replacements. If a team replaces a dropout they don’t want to start with some lost matches already on their score. At the same time existing league teams usually don’t want to play a match that was scheduled to an earlier time and points were earned.

The following teams has recently dropped out from different leagues, for various reasons

  • 1810 – DOM T5 USA S3 PS4
  • 8Pz – DOM T5 EU S3 D1 A PS4
  • PLG – DOM T5 EU S3 D1 B PS4
  • ParE – F-LINE EU T8 D PS4
  • 1B – DOM T5 EU S3 D3 B PS4
  • D3TH – F-LINE EU T8 D PS4

We will not replace any of these teams. The matches against dropout teams will be forfeit for the teams still in the league.

T5 Domination

The leagues group phase in both EU and US is coming to it’s end and we are moving to semifinals. There are still a few matches that need to be played. The window for playing these matches closes on Friday the 16th Feb, that is the final day group matches can be played. If there are matches still unplayed after that date, admins will decide the fait of them on case by case basis. If one team has actively tried to schedule the match and the other has been dodging or not answering at all we will rule it to the more active team. If both teams are equally inactive it will be a draw. If you are planning to have a late match please discuss with admins. We all want to move to the next phase ASAP.

T8 Frontlines

The new game mode in BCL has started quite well. Each group has 1-2 matches played so it’s too early to say who are the top dogs in each group.

We have been having a lively discussion in the T8 Council about the penalties of rule violations. As playing teams know the result of a T8 match is recorded as one of three choices:

  1. Team 1 Wins
  2. Team 2 Wins
  3. Draw

That’s all we know about the match, the winner or draw. If a rule is broken what should be the penalty? This is shaping up slowly, but it’s a tough nut to crack. At the moment it looks like council wants to have teams manually keeping up the actual flag count of each round and rule violations would deduct flags from the end situation. So the teams are not only responsible of proving the violation, but also the ticket situation at the end of the round.

The penalties in T8 is not decided yet, therefore we don’t resolve any of the disputes in T8 yet.

T12 Conquest

After the restart of T12 we have divisions in T12 also. In D1 all the teams have managed to play one gam. In D2 we have only one group and all the teams have played two games already. There are still many matches to play and it’s too early to start speculating the outcome of this one.

Other topics

Disputes

There is a growing number of complicated disputes in many leagues. It is extremely important to dispute the match using the dispute button on the fixture page. Please do not send your disputes directly to any of the admins. It is impossible to keep track of dozens of DMs. Also please check the rules carefully before the dispute and remember that only a dispute with clear evidence of the violation can result to penalties. If you don’t have solid video and/or image evidence, don’t dispute it.

Rules

All the rules are visible to all players in the league page under the ”View League Rules” and ”Community Rules” buttons. You can find the same rules from this news site from the top menu.

BCL News W6/18

Welcome to our very first BCL News bulletin. Here we capture what’s been going on in the community during the past week.

Leagues

Probably the most anticipated news on leagues was the start of the T8 PS4 EU League. We are still waiting for more participants in other continents and platforms leagues, but the PS4 is on and the first round has been fought. More details of the T8 league later, on this newsletter – keep on reading 😉

The dropout teams is a constant problem for the admin team. When a team quits the tournament it means less fighting for the rest of the teams. We are trying to balance that by replacing the dropout with another team. Unfortunately it’s quite difficult and time consuming to determine if a team has gone inactive, since usually teams just don’t show up. We can’t really start booting teams after the first missed match, so it tends to take time to determine if a team really is MIA.

In past week or so, we have replaced several teams in different leagues and this has raised lot’s of questions, like ”what happens to the points earned from the teams that dropped”. We’ve been trying to keep it simple. If the points were earned by actually fighting the dropout team before they went inactive, then it’s only fair to let the team keep their hard earned points. But if the fight against the dropout team newer happened and the points were granted as ”free win” it’s only fair to give the replacing team a fighting change. The points from that match would have to be deserved by fighting.

At the moment it looks like a trend that teams getting a free win from a dropout don’t want to fight for the points. I understand it’s hard competition and nobody wants to loose valuable points, but I can’t really say it’s fair to anyone. The replacing team has losses that newer happened. The teams who didn’t have a fixture scheduled before the replacement would need to fight for their points, while others got free wins.

On the end of Year 2017 many teams wens missing and there are still some new dropouts

  • DOM T5 USA S3 – PS4:  inZtart Gaming [iZ]
  • DOM T5 EU D3 A – PS4: xAnarchist [xANR]
  • DOM T5 EUD2 B – PS4: Starsi Panowie [SPOL]

Matches from the teams above has been set to 4-0 free win for their intended opponents.

For the seasons to come, we are changing the process for replacing teams in leagues. This will hopefully be more fair way to handle these unfortunate situations with teams dropping out and others replacing them.

T5 Domination

In the most popular competitive game mode T5 DOM there was a full round in many leagues. In Division 1 league newcomer Guerrilla Warfare Gaming [GW] took the points home from Manguste E-Sports [MNG]. On their own map, Amiens, MG managed to put up a proper fight, but on GW’s map of choice, Suez, GW took it home clearly.

In the Division 2 ::YaHooLiGaN’s! [Ya] came back to the league with a clear statement on winning Anonymous Exiles [AeX] with relatively wide margin. Ya is going to be a strong candidate to move on from D2.

There was a game on D3 also, where Gfraters [GFT] beat the Flyswatters [FWS] 3-1. GFT has been giving free wins a lot, it’s a pity, since they played well against FWS and would be good candidates to move on from D3 – they would just need to play their games. Also a replacement team Dz46 has been playing their games to catch up with the league. Unfortunately some teams

T12 Conquest

Gloria Victis [GV] welcomed BEGA Élite PS4 [BEGA] to the league by taking a clear 4-0 win in the Division 1 T12 match on saturday.

In the Division 2 Momnet of Truth [MOT] had a tough match against IRA CAMPERA [IRA ]. The match ended 3-1 for MOT, but really tough rounds.

T8 Frontlines

First T8 Frontlines matches has now been played. In group D Epic team [ETF] shared the points with Eternal Victory [eV] by having a draw. RoR won ParE in their first T8 match.

T8 is again totally different game mode from what we have used to see from T12 and T5. Having the right number of players on the cap zone and keeping at least one guy alive for spawning is really tactical. Ofc good gun skills helps in all game modes, but getting a clear win in T8 needs solid tactics too.

Replacement team update

Teams leaving in the middle of the tournament is annoying and problematic. Leaving team leaves a hole in the match schedule and teams are getting less games to play. Playing is why we all are here in the end – right?

Now replacing a team mid-season is not exactly easy either. What to do with the past non-played fixtures, not to mention the ones already played.

The idea so far has been that the replacement team tries to arrange the matches that were newer played, but it seems like the teams in the league don’t want to let go the free 4 points they got from the game that newer happened. We have to do something about this.

We have decided that from the next season forward the points from a free win against a team that is inactive and leaving the league will change from 4-0 clean sweep to 2-2 draw, both teams earning 2 points. If the dropout team gets replaced, the automatic 2-2 draw matches can be played with the replacement team and both teams have a fighting change to gain full 4 points.

This will hopefully add the motivation to fight against the replacement teams and would even up the league for replacement teams if they can’t get all the fights in queue. A free win from a team who has confirmed a forfeit and is still continuing in the league it’s still 4-0 win for the team receiving the forfeit.
