Playing the Match

There are four maps on squad conquest: Arras, Rotterdam, Hamada and Fjell 652. In a Squad Conquest match only 3 of the maps are played. By default the latest addition to the map pool Fjell 652 is left out. If both teams agree you can also leave any other map out of the match. Each map is played twice = 6 rounds per match. The tickets from both rounds on a map summed up and the winner of the map is the team having more combined tickets on that map. Winner of the match is the team winning majority of the maps. In the rare case of draw (i.e. both teams win one map and the third map tickets are even) both teams keep their position in the ladder.

Both teams should be in queue to the commonly agreed server well before the agreed time. A Game can be considered a forfeit it following conditions are met:

  • The agreed start time is passed
  • Team A is on server in full strength
  • Both conditions above are true for 15 minutes and still new random players joins the server (the Team B still doesn’t have their members on the server queue)
  • Of course team A has to prove the conditions are met for 15 minutes

Challenging Other Teams in the Ladder

The Ladder is all about challenging other teams. In the ladder a team can challenge other teams in the ladder -5/+5 positions from the teams current position on the ladder. The winner of the match will take the place of the higher ranking team in the ladder.

Team cannot decline the challenge, but the suggested time they can. Once a team is challenged the they have 7 days to respond to challenge: accept/decline. If the original challenge time/date was declined, teams has to find a proper time/date for the match within next seven days from the original declination. If the match is not played within the set time or a team forfeits, the match will be judged by BCL admins to the team who was more active and reasonable.

While a team is challenged it cannot be challenged by any other team, until the match is played. If a team has not played for 28 days they are considered inactive and they will be removed from the ladder. It’s each teams responsibility to keep matches coming, if they are not challenged they must challenge others.

Playing League Matches

Leagues are tournaments with predefined teams in divisions and groups. Each group has a set of matches that they are expected to play in timely manner. Each match is scheduled for suggested date & time. Match can be played on scheduled time or teams can agree a different time. The match can be played early or maximum seven days after the suggested time.

Contact between leaders in all league fixtures must be made a minimum of 48 hour prior to time of fixture. This must be via BCL website match chat to ensure messages are monitored for fairness and clarity. Messages from different platforms like FB, PSN, WhatsAPP, Discord, etc are difficult to interpret and can be easily fabricated and used out of context will not be accepted.

If the match is not played within the set time the match will be judged by BCL admins to the team who was more active and reasonable.

Switching the sides

With an even number of maps the sides doesn’t change automatically. Teams need to manually switch sides at the mid point of the game (when all the three maps are played once). The map left out of the match plays a key role here. You must start the match from the map that comes next in the rotation after the map you have selected to leave out. This ways when the left out maps comes again you have played all the in match maps once and you have time to switch sides during that extra round. If the map left out would be Fjell 652, you would play the match as follows.

  1. Once the server is cleared you wait until the next map after Fjell 652 – Arras comes. You start playing normally on Arras. You can speed up the wait time rounds by agreeing on giving a full cap to one of the playing teams.
  2. Once you have played once Arras, Rotterdam and Hamada the Fjell 652 comes again. When the Fjell starts do not start capturing the flags until you have switched sides. To make room to switch sides one player from one side must leave the server. Agree with your opponent who that player is. One player on the opposite side of the player who left the server must join to one of the players on the squad of the player who left. This way one team member is switching side to the opposing team side. At this point there opens up one position to the player who originally left to opposing team and if he joins the server from searching the server by server name he will automatically join the opposing team.
  3. Once one member from both teams has switched sides others in both teams can join them. Once more members with sides remember to create a second squad to give the rest of your team room to join the same side by joining your players.
  4. Eventually you should have all the team members from both sides on the other side and you can cap all the flags to speed up the round. Once Arras comes again you should have opposing starting spawns and you can play normally the rest of the match.

Players

All players playing a match must be registered to the team in the BCL website. The registered gamer tag must be exactly the same as the gamer tag visible in the game.

A Player can play only in one team at a time. If a played changes team there is a cool down period of 14 days, before he/she can play for another team.

Each team member must have the minimum rank of 25 in the BFV game to be eligible to play matches. This is to avoid players to create new accounts to play as a pickup for another team. It’s not allowed to register multiple game accounts to different teams.

How to conquer a server

Since we don’t have rental servers in BFV, there is no server settings to set. Server for your clan match needs to be conquered by the playing teams. In practice this means that both teams joins/queues to the same server and try to get all the slots in the server.

  1. The challenging team is responsible for finding a server
  2. Join a server with as low player count as possible. Servers in BFV are deployed dynamically and empty servers are shut down automatically, so there will be no servers with zero player count.
  3. Ask your team members to join you and once there are more than one player in the server create another squad. Ask the rest of the team members to queue to the two squads you have on the server on the same side.
  4. Share the server name to your opponent, who should do the same as the challenging team is doing on phase 3 – they should be queueing to opposing side.
  5. Usually the players on one side start to quit once they notice they are agains a clan. Once you have the majority of the slots on the server start evaluating the best tactic to get the server for your teams
    1. Try sending the remaining extras a nice message, something like:
Could you please leave the server, we are trying to arrange a clan game. Thank you.
    2. Don’t play the round, spawn to avoid getting kicked from the server, but do not capture any flags or do anything for your team. Usually this works the best for the side where there are less extras. Agree with your opponent who plays and who doesn’t on every round.
    3. If you are on the side who is playing, try to cap all the flags and spawn trap the extra players on the other side.
  6. When the server is conquered and both teams are on the server in full strength agree a time to start or start from the beginning of the next round.

Entering the result

After the match the challenged teams is responsible of entering the result to the BCL site. Result is entered in three “legs” where each leg represents one played map. You should enter the sum of tickets of both rounds in the same map to one leg.

Penalties

If a rule is broken the match must be disputed. There is a dispute button in each match result page. The dispute must happen within 7 days of the match end.

In the dispute the disputing team must provide proper evidence of the rule violation – a prover video or image proof the clearly shows the violation. If the evidence is not clear – don’t dispute, it’s not going to stick anyways.

Penalty for breaking any of the rules is minimum -50 tickets for round where the violation was done. If the rules were broken in every round, then the ticket loss is applied to all rounds. If both teams break rules on the same round, we can consider the severity of the violation and the number of violations or the round could be ruled as draw.
